One of the UK's best known niche insurers has a highly desirable new role for a Commercial Underwriter to join their established yet growing team in Harrogate.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone with good experience with Commercial Motor Fleet risks, be that as an Underwriter or an Account Handler, to join a reputable business in Yorkshire that will offer full training and support.

Responsibilities:

Performing a range of duties such as technical referrals
Underwriting complex individual risks
Managing a regional portfolio
Developing new business and maximising the value of current business on an on-going basis
Providing active support and guidance to the technical and commercial development of more junior underwriters
Delivery of outstanding underwriting and customer service to brokers in your area
Building and maintaining relationships with key internal and external stakeholders

Requirements:

Proven experience in a Commercial insurance role, be that with an insurer or broker
Extensive exposure to Motor risks
Excellent interpersonal, relationship building and negotiation skills
Good analytical skills and a high level of attention to detail
Excellent problem solving skills
