I am currently recruiting for an Office/HR Manager in central London to join a building development and design organisation.

The candidate will be able to independently perform specialized job functions with minimal daily supervision. Possesses and applies a broad knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures of a particular field of specialization to complete assignments with originality and ingenuity. Focuses on mastering assigned or self-identified tasks with proficiency, fluency and focus. Understands requirements and peculiarities of a specific function. Establishes strong working relationships with all levels of employees and outside business contacts.

Primary role is to coordinate and manage the operations and human resource functions of a mid-to-large office.

RESPONSIBILITES

• Duties include: general administration, facilities management, and human resource functions. May coordinate, manage, and help prioritize workloads of administration staff, reception, and service center operations.
• Establishes office procedures and systems following firmwide standards.
• Possesses a comprehensive understanding of the companies structure, benefits, and policies and procedures; interprets policies.
• Provides human resource support to include: answering employee, HR and benefit questions
• Providing guidance in employee counselling and relations
• Assisting with office and morale building activities
• Conducting new hire employee orientations; preparing termination paperwork; conducting exit interviews; and providing counsel and recommendations in the employee termination separation process
• Maintaining confidential files and reports; and assisting with other miscellaneous HR projects and tasks, as necessary.
• Coordinates recruiting database initiatives; participates in staffing decisions; leads recruiting initiatives; directs the interview process; and manages employment contract negotiations and preparation.
• Coordinates professional development activities; and manages professional licensing and memberships, from the initial application steps to subsequent renewals and credentialing requirements.
• Supports Corporate Human Resources with the management and coordination of benefit plans and programs.
• Leads the performance evaluation process for annual and intermediate employee reviews.
• Supports and coordinates the promotion and salary increase cycle for the office, and counsels corporate officers, as appropriate. Handles immigration matters for Foreign National employees.
• Supports the organisations cultural norms, including a commitment to quality, innovation, learning and growth. Supports a collaborative environment and an open communication process that shares information and best practices.
• Implements and participates in the mentoring program. Establishes positive staff relationships. Seeks leadership opportunities by providing direction and feedback to employees and collaborating with senior leaders.
• Accountable for compliance with overall office budgets and timeframes, while ensuring quality and relevance of the effort. Understands the financial indicators used by the firm to track performance.
• Supports a philosophy of growth and success through the application of technical expertise to the work of the company. Understand the relevance of Human Resources to commitment to excellence, client service, and innovation.

EXPERIENCE & SKILLS REQUIRED

• Bachelor’s Degree in business, HR, accounting or related field preferred, and/or corresponding human resource management experience. CIPD preferred.
• Possesses proficiency with computer applications commonly used within own applicable discipline, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and HR information systems and databases.
• Supervises and directs the work of subordinates, including PAs, receptionist, and other indirect members of the staff. Receives guidance and coordination from supervisor or more senior members on unusual or complex problems or developments. Counsels, trains and mentors staff.
