We are working with a well-established financial services organisation based in Leeds City Centre and they are looking for an experienced Accountant to work within their central accounts team.

The role will be working within a team and will be working closely with one of the Finance Business Partners, supporting the business with analysis and interpretation of costs for projects and investments.

As part of the role, not only will you provide the analysis and reporting, you will also attend meetings with department heads, to interpret the figures and go through recommendations on costs and savings. Candidates will need to be both technically strong on the accounting side, and also confident, hold strong communication skills and be professional in their approach.

Key duties will include;
• Business partnering to a number of business functions, assisting with monthly variance analysis and providing tailored solutions to enable the function to manage their numbers
• Reporting, analysis and explanation of financial performance against plan and forecasts at both business level and overall Group level.
• Assist the Finance Business Partner to analyse, review and challenge costs and expenditure
• Attend meetings to support management in understanding and owning departmental cost base.
• Evaluation and analysis of profit opportunities / business initiatives
• Understanding of business drivers and application to models
• Liaison with Change Delivery, Risk and Strategy teams to ensure Business cases are aligned to strategic objectives

For this roles candidates will either be fully qualified, or at final stages of CIMA/ACA/ACCA and have proven management accounting and analysis experience.In addition to having strong technical accounting experience, it is essential that candidates have strong communication skills, have the ability to interpret financial information and be able to challenge and direct to improve business performance.
