A hugely successful and rapidly expanding Insurance Broker are looking to recruit an experienced Professional Indemnity Underwriter within their Lancashire office. About the Role:

You will be required to develop and underwrite mid to large corporate risks through a Legal PI Scheme.

More specific duties will include;

• Underwrite insurance risks in accordance with the business plan and the personal authority to meet objectives
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and Underwriters when required
• Develop opportunities in line with the business plan
• Utilising a generous delegated authority
• Understand and comply with the company’s reinsurance strategy to minimize risk and deliver objectives
• Positively promote the team, division and company in order to maximize brand leverage
• Utilise your expertise to shape and develop strategy, knowledge and best practice

Key Skills/Experience Required:

In order to be considered for the position of PI Underwriter, you must possess the following:

• Substantial insurance Underwriting experience
• Thorough knowledge of Professional Indemnity underwriting
• Experience of leading major client insurance programmes
• A proven track record of developing a profitable portfolio of business
• Commercial ability to understand the key profit drivers to maximise long term wealth for shareholders
• Strong knowledge of legal and regulatory requirements
• The ability to analyse data
• Use of risk profiling and pricing tools and loss models
• Degree or equivalent (e.g. ACII)
