Strategic Sourcing ManagerGeneral Summary: The Strategic Sourcing Manager is responsible for sourcing of multi-million euro equipment, labour and services purchases, including all aspects of commodity management and the strategic purchasing analysis for various divisions in this global manufacturing organization. This includes the implementation of significant cost reduction programs while establishing solid, long-term partnerships with regional and global suppliers.
Essential Job Functions:
Collaborate with internal factories to develop aggressive cost reduction goals, cost containment purchasing programs and timelines
Liaise & negotiate with local, regional or global suppliers as necessary in relation to materials, equipment, labour and services required for the various divisions
Manage a robust supply base for materials, equipment, labour and services
Closely monitor market trends, supply/demand factors, technology advancements, legal dictates and industry-wide publications to make effective sourcing recommendations
Control costs utilizing various practices, such as:
? Establishing cost targets
? Performing market tests
? Identifying material substitutions
? Eliminating non-value added costs
? Driving standardization across the company divisions.
? Implementing supplier development processes, including Supplier Evaluation and Qualification Process, Part/Process Certification, Corrective Action Process and Supplier Communication Process
? Performing root-cause analysis of supplier quality and delivery issues

Innovative professional with proven ability to think strategically and manage aggressive assignments
Demonstrated ability in negotiating strategic global and/or regional purchasing contracts and creating effective supplier relationships
Driven team player with excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills
Strategic focus with an ability to prioritize and self-manage
Ability to identify existing regional sourcing programs and implement within other applicable divisions
Ability to establish vendor quality programs that drive out waste
Education and Experience:
Advanced degree, preferably in a purchasing/supply chain or engineering field.
A minimum of five (5) years experience in purchasing plant equipment, material and services, as well as in-depth experience forming regional or global strategic sourcing plans.
A good understanding of a Packaging / Process operation
Familiarity with purchasing systems and tools (Maximo, Ariba, etc.) and ERP (JDA, VAX, SAP, etc.)
Fundamental understanding of financial statements, general accounting & cash flow. Proficient in the use of all common Office software applications.
A good understanding of lean manufacturing techniques such as Six Sigma, Kaizen etc.
European Procurement Experience (ideally in the Food manufacturing).
MCIPS level 4 minimum.
Fluency in German or other European languages would be advantageous.
