My client, based in Victoria : Central London, is currently recruiting for a permanent part-time Payroll Assistant with immediate availability to join their busy finance department. This part-time position, in an educational company, revolves around providing support to the payroll team whilst working 1 day per week with the opportunity to work more days during busy periods. This diverse and supportive role will report to the Management Accountant.

Main duties:
• Processing both administrative and teacher payrolls for two independent schools
• Dealing with both payroll and pension queries
• Monthly payroll reconciliations in Excel
• Dealing with VAT returns at points throughout the year
• Claiming tax on gift aid donations
• Providing support to the Management Accountant
• Other ad hoc accounting duties

Ideal candidate:
• Previous experience working with Payroll
• Knowledge of both Excel and Word
• Ability to work well within a team
• Good communication and administrative skills
