Job Information

We are working with an established Not-for-Profit organisation based on York and they are looking for an experienced Finance Director to join the business on a fixed term contract.

The role is to start ASAP and would initially be for 7 months- this may be extended and/or go permanent.

Charity experience (or similar) would be beneficial, but not essential.

Reporting into the Chief Exec, the role will be responsible for the management of the finance function, financial reporting and control. The role will also sit on the board and will work as part of the senior management team. Key duties will include;

•All aspects of financial management and management accounting and the duties of Company Secretary.
•Prepare draft annual accounts for management and external audit purposes
•Monthly management accounting, including preparation of the management and board pack (including commentary)
•Attend management meeting and board meeting; representing finance and providing an overview of current status, performance ect
•Compile annual budgets, cash forecasting, variance analysis including YTD, Month on Month ect
•Prepare costings and commercial/ financial analysis for tender submissions, supporting managers across the business
•Management of the finance team- overseeing 2 people including training, development, day to management and support.
•Manage and supervise the payroll operations, transactional accounting, credit control, treasury, cash management, account reconciliation
•Involvement with operation and commercial areas across the business.

For this role it is essential that candidates are fully qualified ACCA/ACA/CIMA and have proven experience working within an SME at this level.

Strong communication skills are essential, as you will be working with managers across the business and as part of the senior management team (and as a board member).

This is an immediate need, so candidates will need to be either immediate, or available on short notice.
