Cameron James Professional Recruitment are recruiting a Technical Proposal Engineer for a professional services organisation based in the North East.

Due to the company’s expansion, they are looking for a Technical Proposal Engineer to join its team in Middlesbrough. Reporting directly to the Proposal Manager. The Proposal Engineer will be responsible for coordinating and producing technical tender submissions for clients in manufacturing and processing sectors.

The successful candidate will ideally have experience of working in a similar position with a manufacturing or industrial sector. They must have experience of submitting successful tenders and proposals.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Producing a range of technical proposals, from PLC and SCADA systems, upgrades, service level agreements, management information systems, vision systems, manpower support projects through to full turnkey solutions.
• Gaining a comprehensive understanding of each customer’s requirements and producing high quality proposals that meet and exceed client’s expectations.
• You must have good attention to detail and achieve a high level of accuracy in the quotations that you produce.
• Creating cost spreadsheets including hardware, software and engineering components.
• You will liaise with the engineering departments to include accurate timescales and engineering days in each tender.
• The work will be varied and every proposal will be a new and exciting opportunity to use and develop different skills.
• Responding promptly to customer requirements and developing good customer relationships in a professional manner.

PERSON SPECIFICATION:

• Ideal candidates will have an automation, engineering or process control systems background
• A good understanding of PLC, SCADA, DCS and management information systems.
• A “can do” positive attitude is required with the desire to extend your skill set, take on board new challenges and help the company grow its reputation and customer base.
• Experience of submitting successful tenders and proposals.
• Good attention to detail and be able to communicate effectively both formally and informally, orally and in written English
