Warehouse Operations Manager (Redditch)

Job Description & Specification

Reporting directly to Company Directors, you will be expected to manage the day to day running of two distribution centres in the West Midlands that will shortly be merged into one main centre based in Redditch.

You must be capable of building a strong and motivated Central Stores team of supervisors & staff (30+) who will all work hard in delivering high levels & constantly improving levels of performance. You will provide guidance, support, instruction and training for the development of skills, knowledge and awareness relative to operational requirements, health & safety and the welfare of all staff within your team.

Whilst some hands-on input will be required, this should be balanced with strategic planning to best serve the long term business objectives.

You will be responsible for monitoring and enhancing the running of shift operations to ensure all KPI’s are met and improved upon.

Controlling the running and costs of our fleet of trucks and having responsibility for our Operators Licence.

You need to be able to work to a budget and look to maximize performance & cost savings to ensure that resource is fully utilized at all times across all transport and warehouse activities.

This means everything from implementing, monitoring, measuring and driving improvements in performance across all areas of operation to ensure that stock is stored correctly and accurately and that the centre complies with all relevant legislation.

You must:

• Be resilient, influential and results driven, with an innate ability to cope with rapidly changing work plans and priorities.
• Be capable of working in a varied and expansive role, including recruiting, motivating, coaching and inspiring a team.
• Have a background in a dynamic, fast paced warehousing environment.
• Be able to monitor, report and provide feedback on performance reviews.
• Be able to understand all levels of warehousing and operations staff within distribution and reacting positively & quickly to unforeseen obstacles.
• Be a good planner with good man management and motivational skills.
