Cameron James Professional Recruitment are recruiting a Senior Project Engineer to join its Process Control Systems team in North East England.

Due to the company’s expansion, they are looking for a Senior Project Engineer to join its team in Middlesbrough. The Senior Project Engineer main duties will be to Design, development and implementation of projects using a variety of manufacturers PLC / SCADA solutions on a variety of projects. Must be capable of running projects on a day to day basis from start through to final commissioning with the ability to deal with clients professionally and effectively

This is a senior role in the company and must have the depth of knowledge and personal characteristics to be able to train and mentor junior staff members. The successful candidate must have the presence to promote the company image and ensure that this is enhanced by successful implementation of systems.


KEY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

• Siemens S7/300, S7/400, S5, Allen Bradley SLC500, PLC5, ControlLogix, CompactLogix
• SCADA systems such as WinCC, InTouch, iFIX
• Knowledge of DCS systems

• You may not have knowledge of all these systems but should have detailed knowledge of at least one with sufficient practical experience to be able to work with other types of systems as dictated by project requirements.

• Ability to lead a team of engineers on a day to day basis to ensure that projects are delivered in time, under budget and to the quality required by clients.

• The successful candidate should have the ability to be able to work autonomously or as part of a team dependent on the size and scope of the projects.

• You will be required to mentor junior members of staff and be actively involved in their development.

• You will be expected to produce project documentation such as design documentation and test specifications and expected to review documents produced by junior engineers.

• You must have the ability to work on customers sites on their own. They will represent and enhance the company’s image in related technical areas. They should be able to quickly gain the confidence of customers and internal staff. A “can do” positive attitude is required with the desire to extend their skill set, take on board new challenges and to help the company grow its reputation and customer base.

• Good documentation & communication skills, planning and time management are essential for this role.

• Skills in DCS systems such as Emerson DeltaV, Siemens PCS7, ABB System 800xa, Allen Bradley ProcessLogix, Honeywell Plantscape / Experion,

• Understanding of instrumentation signals and the ability to fault find on I/O subsystems and I/O subsystems that use buses such as Profibus, ProfiNet, DeviceNet / ControlNet and EtherNet

• Confidence in the use of PC based office systems preferably Microsoft Office suite and MS Project.


• Knowledge and experience of implementation of projects using the following standards, IEC61508, IEC61131, EN54, S88. Understanding of pharmaceutical GxP and related subjects e.g. GAMP®.

• Knowledge of PC operating systems and an ability to support and troubleshot these systems would be of benefit.


Close liaison with the client will be required for this role as part of the day to day project engineering responsibilities.
