Job Description

Objectives:
To coordinate activities on a group level in order to manage the balance between demand, supply and inventory to deliver:

• A service level in line with market demands, measured via Backlog
• An affordable level of inventory, measured via Inventory DOS
• Best use of available internal factory capacities, measured via Utilisation
• Best cost of supply measured by internal transport cost

Facilitate the use of standardised and robust processes between supplying factories and sales regions. Act as a point of escalation and arbitration for major backlog situations.

Contribute to the strategic discussion regarding existing and future capacities and facilities.

Main Accountabilities / Activities
• Develop and facilitate the implementation of consistent supply chain processes between regions and suppliers (both external and internal)
• Develop and implement standardised performance measures for capacity utilisation, supplier order fulfilment and cost of supply
• Develop, implement and maintain tools to provide regular and up-to-date information on future supply capacity utilisation, highlighting under and over utilisation
• Maintain sufficient flexibility in the supply chain through the management and control of ’bridging’ activities and allocations, including the process of identifying and triggering development of new bridges required in the future
• Take a coordination role in the product introduction process, ensuring an adequate information flow between PLI, Production and Sales regions
• Act as point of escalation for significant backlog issues, and as a point of arbitration in the case of conflict. Prepare materials to facilitate the involvement of all interested parties in production allocation decisions
• Operate a process of continuous improvement in all aspects of the Supply Chain, leading and participating in group-wide change programs.

Key Result Areas/Key Performance Indicators
• Customer service levels : measured by backlog and OTIF
• Inventory levels : measured by Inventory DOS and slow/no moving percentage
• Factory order fulfillment : measured by Supplier OTIF or equivalent
• Capacity utilisation : measured by utilisation percentage

Qualifications and Experience Required:
• Significant exposure to best-practice supply chain management processes and principles within a modern multi-site manufacturing system
• Excellent working knowledge of the constraints and practicalities of high volume process manufacturing
• Experience of ERP, data manipulation and presentation systems

Skills/Personal Profile:
• Demonstrable track record of Senior Supply Chain Management experience in a multi-site, multi-country manufacturing operation
• Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal. Ability to communicate in other European languages is a benefit, but not mandatory
• Strong inter-personal skills, with the ability to achieve results through influence rather than direct control
• Credibility with Senior Management, with the ability to articulate complex situations in a clear, concise way : facilitating consensus, fact-based decisions
• An analytical thinking style, comfortable with the manipulation and interrogation of high volumes of data in order to distill actionable analysis and direction
• Results driven approach, with a desire for continuous measurement and improvement, including the development of new process/measures/systems
• Must be willing and able to travel frequently to all European sites. Potentially, travel requirement could be 40-60% of working days.
