Merchandiser and Stock planner

Job Summary

To plan stock intake requirements to meet the budgeted sales in full, on time, and reacting seasonal demands, while operating within budget.

My client is a rapidly expanding national retailer in thelifestyle products sector, they supply bothboth branded and white label ranges.

Key Responsibilities and accountabilities

• Ensure that the correct stock is in stock at the right time.
• To review forecasts to ensure sales, stock holding, margin and availability is optimised.
• To work with the Buying, Range planning (where appropriate), Design and Technical teams to set product strategy and then plan balanced and commercial ranges
• To assist the Buyer in managing the supplier base to maximise availability, supplier and depot service in line with agreed KPIs and timelines.
• Work with the buying team to review weekly trading performance on KPIs and to identify any issues and opportunities to respond to weekly trading conditions.
• Accountable for planning & prioritisation of stock flow into the business throughout the product life cycle, using all available merchandising and logistics tools to meet availability requirements and targets.
• To calculate and manage the replenishment of stock to maintain in warehouse stock levels and flow by line, size and by store to optimise availability, sales and minimise markdown through detailed analysis using appropriate and agreed corporate tools
• Liaison with warehouse, stores, and freight companies, as well as other departments to ensure smooth delivery flow of stock through the critical path.
• To monitor margin performance to ensure departmental profitability targets are achieved.
• To apply and run the pareto principle on stock management
• Ensure that the service level agreements (SLA)are maintained


Required Experience

• You will need at least two years experience in a similar stock controlrole within the retail sector, product catagory is not specifically important.
• Good Excel skills will be required as there will be an amount of data based processing.
