Job Information

One of the UK's leading high-street retailers are looking for a Generalist HR Advisor to join the Head Office team, on a contract basis during a very exciting time! The retailer boasts over 400 stores across the UK and the HR Advisor will be responsible for a share of these stores along with Head Office & Distribution.

Main responsibilities include:

• Provide general HR Advice across the board at all levels from Senior Management to Sales Assistant as required.
• Co-ordinate and manage ER cases through to completion, ie disciplinaries, grievances, appeals, flexible working requests, to ensure that they are conducted on time and in line with company procedures and statutory requirements.
• Absence and long term sick management. Ensuring that employees are monitored in line with company expectations and trigger levels. Co-ordinating and advising on welfare meetings and obtaining medical reports.
• To assist with the collation and administration of information relating to employment tribunals, ensuring that all associated costs are negotiated and approved by the business.
• Assist with any head office inductions as necessary.
• Co-ordinate and manage any store closures, redundancies and restructuring projects.
• Any other related ad-hoc duties as required.
• Oversee and manage the workload of the HR Assistant, ensuring that work is accurate and completed in a timely manner.


The candidate will:

• Be an experienced HR Advisor (2 years minimum)
• Have previous retail experience (preferable but not essential)
• Be happy working as part of a small team with minimum supervision and in a very fast paced environment
• Be intermediate/advance user of Microsoft Excel
