We are working with an established SME wholesale and distribution company and they are looking for a Management Accountant / Company Accountant.


This is an immediate need, so candidates will need to be immediately available or on a short notice period.


Reporting into the Head of Operations and Part-Time FD, the role will have overall responsibility for finance team, including day to day management and preparation of monthly accounts. Key duties will include;


•Preparation of the Monthly Management Accounts.
•Full reconciliation of the P&L and Balance Sheet on a monthly basis.
•Multi-Currency, GBP, USD, Euro and CYN.
•Producing monthly sales reports.
•Stock management, reporting and reconciliations
•Full ownership of the budget analysing costs against actual spend and reporting variance analysis.
•Responsible for annual preparation of statutory accounts including liaising with external auditors.
•Payroll, preparation of monthly payroll using a payroll bureau.
•Responsible for managing the pension scheme.
•Treasury management.
•Responsible for reporting to Government/HMRC, including VAT for 2 entities, C79 Reconciliation, annual returns, Intrastat, EEC Sales, ½ yearly Duty and Import Tax Voluntary Declarations and OPR.
•Management of 2/3 direct reports including the undertaking monthly ledger reviews.
•Responsible for the HR function using an external agency


For this role candidates can either be Qualified ACCA/ CIMA/ ACA or Finalist level, or QBE (Qualified by Experience).


It is essential that candidates have proven technical accounting experience and have previously worked in a similar role at this level.
