We have been exclusively retained by a class leading global organisation to recruit a Purchasing Manager. This new role is being created to aid the overall financial and commercial development of a business that is some 6,000 employees strong, with operations in 25 countries.



Main Duties:

• Initially focused on the EMEA region, you will be targeted to make real cost savings across an array of service orientated contracts
• Currently the organisation has a decentralised procurement function; the key task will be to introduce process, procedure and structure to a forming purchasing team
• Key areas of spend are within I.T, recruitment, marketing, outsourced call centres, office products and communications
• Supplier appraisal, performance review and more importantly relationship management are key, the company believes that keeping suppliers happy and informed are critical to future growth and innovative development
• In short, through developing forward thinking commercial terms when buying products and services, you will deliver a purchasing category strategy including sourcing activities which generate benefits and achieve financial savings targets through insight and analysis of category and sub category areas, including:


• Analysis of spend and supply base to establish suppliers per category and sub category
• Analysis of supply markets to identify potential suppliers and market trends




Key Experience Required:

• Educated to degree level with a minimum of 5 years’ senior level procurement experience with responsibility for delivery of category strategy and benefits including financial savings
• Experience of working across multiple geographical locations
• Experience of developing procurement functions, processes and procedures
• CIPS qualified
• Excellent analytical, interpersonal influencing, negotiating and influencing skills at all levels are essential
