We are working with a well established SME who are one of the market leaders in their sector. They are now recruiting for an experienced Finance Manager to join the team.


This role would be ideal for someone who is ambitious and keen to develop there career. This may be step up from your last role, or someone already in a similar position, but keen to progress into an FD role within 2-3 years. There is definite scope to progress, so candidates must be ambitious and looking to develop and take on more responsibility.


Working as a No2 to the Finance Director the role will be responsible for managing the accounting team, supporting the FD and Senior Managers and preparation of monthly accounting, management reporting and management pack. Key duties will include;
•Preparing accounts for the Group - full management accounting, P&L analysis, balance sheet reconciliation - plus commentary
•Year-end statutory accounting and preparing for the auditors
•Provide in-depth analysis for the group- sales, costs and margin performance, department spend, key variances on budget vs actual, monthly KPI's and analysis of trends and variances
•Prepare the group management pack for Directors - overview of accounts, commercial analysis on the business, cash flow and cash management, debtors ect
•Management and overseeing of the accounts team - credit control, purchase ledger, treasury and general accounts -5 people
•Ensure the finance team adhere and meet correct financial controls and internal accounting procedures. Promote best practice and identify any areas of improvement and training
•Assist the FD with preparing the group annual budget and quarterly financial forecasts
•Supporting business units across the business on financial areas in a business partnering capacity - liasing with budget holders, providing performance reporting and costings


For this role candidates will be ideally fully qualified ACCA/CIMA/ACA and have proven experience working in a similar role. Candidates close to qualification may be considered, although you must be actively looking to qualify.


Ideally candidates will have strong staff management experience or have the ability to manage teams.


It is essential that candidates are technically strong with proven financial accounting and commercial reporting experience. Strong MS Excel skills are required and MS Dynamics would be a distinct advantage (although not essential).
