We are working with a leading logistics business and they are looking for an experienced Management Accounts Analyst to join the business.


Working in the UK Head-office the role will involve preparing analysis and reporting on divisional management accounts from across the business.


Working closely with the Finance Manager, focusing on financial reporting and analysis, budgeting, KPI, gap analysis and financial modelling. The role involves dealings with both finance and non- finance staff as well as regional and global headquarters and shared service centres overseas. Key duties will include;


•Review of divisional management accounts, focusing on analysis of revenue and expense accruals, prepayments and fixed assets
•Ensuring that month-end accounts are closed in compliance with accounting policies within set deadlines
•Reporting and analysis of accounts - preparation of profitability diagnostics, management accounts packs, Reporting and analysis of results and KPI as well as gap analysis including commentary
•Profitability analysis - Product, Lane, Customer drill down and forecasting
•Support pricing group to cost large and complex customer bids
•Updating and improving financial models
•Attending monthly meeting with regional managers to discuss account and interpret key information. This will involve making recommendation to improve performance
•Review and agree with regional and department heads their respective business plans including initiatives, Audit and review profit plans


For this role candidates will need to be degree educated (accounting, economics or relevant business degree) and ideally be studying towards a professional qualification - ACCA / CIMA / ACA.


Although the role will not be preparing management accounts, candidates will need to understand the full month-end process, in order to effectively analyse and report on key areas.


Strong communication skills are required as you will be expected to interpret the figures to non-finance senior managers across the business.


Excellent IT skills are essential - MS Excel (pivots, look-ups ect) and having Access experience would be a distinct advantage.


Candidates will need to be ambitious and keen to progress, as there is really good scope to develop within the business.


Some travel will be expected to other offices within the UK (2 nights per month).
