We are working with a leading independent retail business and they are recruiting for an experienced Accountant to join the team.


Candidates will need to have strong experience within the Retail industry or alternatively Leisure / Hospitality or similar industry.


Working as part of team and reporting into the MD the role will involve full accounts preparation for the group, including preparing consolidated accounts for multiple entities. Key duties will include;


•Preparation of monthly management accounts for multiple entities within the group - P&L Reporting and analysis, balance sheet reconciliation
•Monthly accounting for over 110 stores, including full month-end process, financial analysis and reporting
•Quarterly consolidated accounts
•Year-end accounting and preparing for the auditors
•Providing detailed analysis and reporting on the accounts, including breakdown on margins, company performance, costs, sales and profitability
•Monthly account reconciliation - bank reconciliation, managing the bank accounts, cashbook, reconciliation of the ledgers
•Cash management and cash flow reporting
•VAT Returns and Intrastat
•Overseeing the purchase ledger, cash management and payroll


For this role candidates can either be QBE (Qualified by Experience), Part or fully Qualified ACCA / CIMA/ ACA and must have worked in a similar role. It is essential that candidates have prepared accounts for multiple entities / sites and have had consolidation experience.


This role is very hands on and not only will the role be focused on the month-end process, but you will also be involved with day to day accounting. It is essential that you can talk and interpret the figures from start to finish to the MD, in order to support commercial decisions on the business.


Strong MS Excel skills are required and experience with Navision (MS Dynamics) or TAS Books would be advantageous.
