Our client has been established for over 130 years and are experiencing significant growth within their market place. They currently turn over 11million pounds but have a 5 year plan to increase the turn over to 20 million pounds so they are looking for is someone to join their team who is a problem solver, proactive and can add value to their team through your own industry expertise.

Job overview:

To assume responsibility for all aspects of procurement and administration for both production & non-stock items against the assigned buyer code in line with manufacturing & sales requirements. Providing a superior level of both internal and external customer services whilst adopting a continuous improvement methodology to all activities.

Job Duties:

• Responsible for providing all aspects of procurement and administration required by the purchasing department for production/non-stock items
• Overall responsibility for strategic purchase of commodity groups as agreed and the management of sub contract machined components alongside analysis of market trends and analysis for commodity groups.
• Suggest / Review / Advise on Make or Buy decisions with Operations.
• Undertake projects regarding strategic long term purchases and purchasing recommendations. Produce reports and analysis to ensure data is valid.
• Responsible for ensuring MRP outputs are actioned on a daily basis
• Maintain relationships with existing suppliers and source new suppliers where applicable to meet JHH requirements on price, quality and delivery
• Evaluate quotations, negotiate prices and make recommendations based on commercial knowledge.
• Lead lean Purchasing Strategies within the department in conjunction with the buyers.


Experience

• Extensive experience of operating in an MRP environment preferably with Microsoft Axapta.
• Experience of procurement in a manufacturing setting.
• MCIPS or working towards the qualification will be a distinct advantage
