Materials Planner

We are seeking to recruit an experience Materials Planner for our manufacturing sector client.

The role
The key focus of the position is to ensure a continuous supply of product into the business, meeting demand and agreed stock level targets; ensuring that customer service levels can be met, whilst managing stocks such that warehouse storage and product obsolescence are minimised.

Main duties will include:

• Forecasting demand for all product ranges based on historic usage and sales promotional activity.
• Maintaining stock levels against order quantities/batch sizes, product mix constraints and lead times
• Liaising with Senior Management; recommending volumes for ordering for each specific range.
• Placing orders with suppliers based on the forecast and agree projected delivery dates.
• Managing the supplier interface through the placing of orders and progress chasing same.
• Expediting materials as necessary to ensure material availability to achieve customer service levels
• Communicating supplier performance to relevant departments specifying delivery dates and any alterations of such.
• Managing a booking in system for deliveries of products and related accessories, publishing a delivery schedule on a weekly basis.
• Producing the weekly raw materials stock graph.
• Oversees the Planning Administrator regarding the ordering of component parts and associated products to maintain an unbroken supply of raw materials into the Plant.
• Provides absence cover for the Purchasing Materials Controller as necessary



Key Experience:

• Previous experience in a Materials Control role
• Working knowledge of SAP and Microsoft Excel
• Experienced user of forecasting techniques
• High level of interpersonal skills
• Negotiating and influencing skills
• Good analytical thinking skills
• Good planning, organising and integration skills
• Good written and verbal communication skills
