I am currently recruiting for an experienced Secretary to support the management team in a Financial Services organisation in Birmingham Centre.

The role is to assist and contribute to the operational effectiveness of the department and the company's objectives. Provides an efficient and effective secretarial and administration service to Directors/Managers.

The successful candidate will have worked in a similar position ideally with the Financial Services or Professional Services sector. They will be articulate, have excellent attention to detail, GCSE Grade C or above in English, Be able to build successful professional working relationships quickly and have excellent IT skills.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• To provide secretarial support to Directors and Managers as requested;
• To support and assist the Manager with all associated tasks within the department;
• To assist with production of correspondence for Board, Subsidiary, Committee and management meetings;
• To provide secretarial support to the Group Chief Executive in the PA's absence;
• To provide support for dedicated HR function as requested;
• To provide secretarial and administrative support for FSA regulated complaints procedure;
• Takes minutes at informal/formal meetings as requested;
• Makes accommodation and travel bookings for Directors and Managers as requested;
• Carries out appropriate duties and support as may be required from time to time by the Group Chief Executive or his PA.


SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

• Significant secretarial experience
• Minimum RSA Level 2 Typing or equivalent
• Good educational background : a minimum of 5 GCSEs or equivalent, including English language
• Proficient IT skills : Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
• Minimum typing speed of 65wpm with accuracy of 95%
• Competent in audio typing
• Minute taking
• Proficiency in shorthand
• Competent use of internet
• Ability to plan and prioritise workloads
• Ability to work under pressure as well as on own initiative
• High level of attention to detail
• Confident, clear and proficient communicator; able to communicate at all levels
• Enthusiastic team player
• Reliable and organised
• Good time management skills
• Full driving licence
