I am currently recruiting for an experienced HR Advisor to join a manufacturing organisation near New Haven.

The role is to work as part of the HR team in a larger organisation where you will support an area of the business in all aspects of the HR function. The role is to provide a pro-active and professional HR service; whilst supporting and guiding managers to deliver effective people management solutions. In addition, provide advice to all employees on policies and procedures and other HR related queries

The candidate must have experience of working as a HR generalist in the Private sector. They must also have experience of Employee Relations and Recruitment. They will also need to have a driving license.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide advice and guidance on HR policies, practices and employment law
• Communicate effectively with all key internal and external stakeholders
• Investigating and conducting disciplinary and grievances with management
• Supporting managers when creating or revising organisational job descriptions
• Manage all recruitment activity including conducting 1st line interviews, preparing offer paperwork and providing appropriate feedback
• Provide accurate reporting on management information in a timely manner
• Update the employee handbook, to ensure that it is in line with current legislation
• Ensure all new employees have a proper training programme put in place and that all items on their induction programme are completed
• Maintaining and managing absence levels
• Ensure that the Annual Performance reviews are carried out for all employees and any training needs are identified
• Source appropriate training and development courses for employees, and assist Group HR Manager to conduct in-house training courses
• Keep updated on new legislation and employment law.
• Support the Group HR Manager with any ad-hoc requests and projects as required


SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

• CPP or similar professional HR qualification.
• Demonstrable experience with day-to-day HR issues.
• A good understanding of employment law.
• Understanding of payroll procedures
• Computer literate - Excel, Word, email and the Internet.
• Experience of HR databases
• Positive, with excellent communication skills.
• Self-motivated with a degree of initiative and integrity.
