The Role:

As a Purchasing Manager you will need to you will have both strategic and tactical ownership of a particular category/ commodity area with a substantial spend. You will have cradle to grave responsibility for your commodity suppliers incorporating supplier selection, cost, quality and delivery in addition to the management responsibility of a team of Buyers and Senior Buyers.

Main Duties:

• The procurement Manager is responsible for very best value procurement of packages in line with company processes and consequently developing sustainable, trusting and dependable trade contractor and consultant's business relationships.
• To enable the purposes of the job role to be met and without providing an exhaustive list, critical success aspects of the role will include the following:-
• Implement cost and procurement control systems, in alliance with Company processes.
• Covering the financial aspects of projects including, for example, trade package content, cost forecasting and reporting systems, risk and
opportunity analysis and procurement.
• Ensure that health and safety issues are considered in trade procurement and that provision is made to ensure good levels of health and safety, in the
execution of the works.
• Provide cost plan support and commercial information through the pre-construction stage of developments and participate in assessing potential future project viability.


Experience Required:

• Qualified to MCIPs
• Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel
• Experience of using Procurement and Finance systems
• Experience of working to Category Management principles and a systematic approach to Sourcing, Negotiation, Contract development and implementation
• Is able to work to deadlines attention to detail and organizational skills
• Team player with an ability to work on own initiative.
• Blue-chip background with diverse experience
• Proven procurement expertise with a background gained within Automotive,
• Engineering or semi-related sectors. FMCG/ Pharmaceutical and telecoms/electronics sectors.
• Team management experience that delivers results.
