Distribution Operations Supervisor

Hours: Full time (46.5 hours per week)

Role
We are looking for a Supervisor to manage the Mail Order picking and packing team within a distribution centre.

This position has a central role within the organisation and the role requires the skills and experience necessary to meet the expectations of the business and its multi-channel customers, whilst satisfying the increasing demands for greater productivity. Thus the role requires a commercial awareness and will include responsibilities for achieving productivity targets and maintaining quality standards.

Responsibilities and Tasks:

• Implement continuous improvement within a mail order fulfilment environment
• Supervise the picking, checking, packing and dispatch of orders
• Motivation of team members
• KPI Performance : specifically making sure OTIF delivery targets are met
• Manage staffing levels, authorise holidays and arrange overtime working
• Managing team members for skills, aptitude, capabilities and productivity; implementing training and performance improvement plans where necessary
• Health & Safety issues, particularly in regards to manual handling
• Conduct disciplinary investigations
• Maintain site security and conduct random security checks
• Encouraging a positive culture at all times



Key Experience Required

• You must have Mail Order picking and packing or E-commerce fulfilment experience within a warehousing and distribution environment
• Experience of leading and managing a team
• Comprehension of management techniques (particularly KPIs)
• Good computer skills (particularly MS Office)
• Prepared to do physical work
• Willing to put in the hours when required
