Company:

Our client is a rapidly expanding facilities and construction company. They possess a solid reputation and a burgeoning order book; due to this they are expanding their Procurement team.

Summary of Responsibilities:

• Reporting directly to the Procurement Manager, you will be responsible for unlocking value within the supply chain through proactive procurement.
• Continually drive efficiencies through effective negotiation, generating leverage within the supply chain whilst always considering ways to reduce the total transactional cost.
• Act as a key line of communication with suppliers, managing the complete procurement process; from sourcing and negotiating to delivery and administration.
• Analyse suppliers, negotiating effectively, raising purchase orders, dealing with invoices and pricing queries
• Obtaining best prices for bespoke and stock items from suppliers
• Liaise with suppliers to achieve required standards of quality, availability and profitability.
• Build and maintain relationships with suppliers and deal with all admin involved in the order process.
• Negotiate trading terms and agreements with vendors under direction
• Ensure the Buying function offers the best possible service to the business in terms of quality and price requirements.
• Identify and propose where potential savings can be made to generate revenue or reduce expenditure.


Specific Experience Required:

• Experience within a Buyers role, specifically experienced in sourcing, supplier evaluation and negotiating price
• Competent I.T skills
• Demonstrate strong communication skills to deal with sub-contractors, suppliers and colleagues across the company.
• It is important that you can work well under pressure, to deadlines set and respond well to work delegated to them.
• Previous experience in a Buying/Sub-Contract Buying role is desirable but not essential and we would welcome applicants with experience within the construction industry.
• Being MCIPS qualified would be a distinct advantage.
