Job Information

Cameron James are currently working with a National Civil Engineering company who are looking to appoint a Compliance Manager to cover their full UK operation, based from their Leeds Office. This is a new stand- alone role responsible for ensuring that the Compliance of their major contractor is upheld and overlaid across all their legislation and site management.


Reporting to the Company Secretary the successful individual must have an understanding and working knowledge of the rules, regulations and standards applicable to the corporate business through risk management, inputting quality procedures and constant updating of current legislation.


Essential qualifications:
ISO9001 and ideally ISO 14001/18001 would be desirable
NEBOSH Construction Certificate/Tech SP certificate ideal but not essential
Educated to degree level


Key areas of responsibility- this is not an exhaustive list as it is expected that the individual will add to this from experience:


Maintain the Integrated Management System, ensuring that this is updated, and effectively utilised complying with operating standards within the industry and matching the client’s aspirations.
Update the Operations Manual to ensure that procedural and policy changes identified are implemented effectively and in company regulations
Maintain awareness of changes to legislation or client requirements and propose changes to Policy, Supply Chain Management or Management systems accordingly to the Board
Periodically review the company operating standards and propose changes as required
Prepare all relevant documentation for Internal and External Audit purposes liaising with the main client to ensure appropriate compliance
Prepare corrective actions in response to Audit findings, non-compliance or client concerns as highlighted by the Construction Board.
To Create Inspection and Test Plans as required
Undertake appropriate reviews of site practice to measure adherence to the company’s Management System
Take prompt appropriate action or training needs to maintain compliance with policies
