Cameron James Professional Recruitment are working with a National Construction organisation who are looking to appoint a Learning & Development Manager. The Learning & Development Manager will be responsible for coordinating and delivering Learning and Development within the organisation and managing the trainee scheme. Ensuring staff have the right development solutions available to them and that the organisation has a pipeline of talent progressing through the business.

Responsibilities

• Develop a comprehensive and consistent Management Trainee and Apprenticeship programme, implement and manage this programme
• Build links with local schools, colleges and universities, and attending recruitment fayres, promoting construction as a career choice Telford Homes receive applications from school leavers as well as college leavers
• Collate training needs for the year from the appraisal process and identify suitable learning solutions
• Actively collate feedback and use this to improve development solutions
• Deal with ad-hoc requests for training
• Manage external training providers and source great deals on training
• Development Solutions Identify where in-house development solutions are needed
• Propose, develop and deliver all in-house training
• Develop training programmes by job role and manage the tracking and delivery of those programmes


Person Specification:

• Experience in a similar Learning and Development role
• Highly capable of delivering training to large groups of people
• Significant experience of reviewing, developing and delivering learning and development solutions
• Current knowledge of employment law
• Strong IT skills, including advanced knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint and Word
• CIPD qualified and/or equivalent L&D qualification such as PTTLS
• The ability to coach line managers and employees
• Ability to manage and organise own workload in line with the priorities of the business
• Able to work autonomously and drive learning and development priorities
• Able to communicate effectively across all levels of the business
• Strong team player
• Attention to detail and desire to complete a task once undertaken
• Strong organisation skills and ability to put robust work plans in place to work toward meeting key deadlines on time
• Be proactive in finding solutions and using initiative to continuously improve the department
