I am currently recruiting for an experienced Learning and Development Manager to work for a professional services organisation in the South West.


The purpose of the role to develop and promote the learning and development function for the organisation across the South West and London. You will need to establish a learning culture and developing the organisations talent.
To provide advice and guidance to staff and work supervisors in relation to learning and development and to assist the Head of Human Resources in the achievement of the HR critical success factors. You will also need to assist with the graduate recruitment process, in conjunction with the Training Principal and Head of Human Resources.

The successful candidate will have worked in a similar management position with a focus on the Learning and Development in the Professional Services sector. They will also be ideally be a graduate and CIPD qualified, and a qualification in the use of psychometric tests in support of development interventions would also be of benefit. They will be an excellent communicator; able to forge effective working relationships and with the ability to influence and persuade at all levels.

This is an urgent position and requires someone who can start ASAP.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Design and facilitate workshops
• Promote and ensure effectiveness of e-learning platform and provide 1:1 coaching to Staff
• Work closely with the Head of Human Resources and Joint CEO's to develop and agree the Learning and Development elements of the HR strategy, ensuring that it is aligned with the overall business strategy and is co-ordinated with other related management processes such as induction, performance management and appraisal and career development.
• Ensure the Learning and Development elements of the HR strategy are delivered; taking a proactive approach and being the driving force behind establishing a learning culture and regularly reporting on activity and process to the Management Board.
• Forge strong relationships with Managers across the business; establishing the reputation of the Learning and Development function, encouraging participation in learning activities and ensuring the company is able to maximise the opportunities for developing talent in order to meet its current and future resourcing needs.
• Work with the Senior Support Managers to review the current learning and development needs, linking into the Business Strategy and related Business Plans
• Work with the Head of Human Resources and Human Resources Advisors to ensure effective staff induction processes.
• Work closely with the Human Resources Advisors and where appropriate, Training Contacts
• Work with Senior Support Managers in relation to the training delivery elements of their respective work areas/projects
• Engage and develop effective relationships with external vendors
• Deliver training, in conjunction with internal personnel where appropriate, in support of the needs of the business
• Evaluate learning and development, ensuring the maximised return on the investment (in line with the business needs) and reporting as appropriate to the Board.
• Assist with the graduate recruitment processes, working closely with the Human Resources Advisors.
• Support the achievement/maintenance of quality standards.
• Assist in the development and production of appropriate management and Board reports
• Treat all information in a confidential manner


SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• CIPD or similar qualification
• a proven track record in developing a learning culture and introducing relevant processes and activities that support the achievement of the business’s objectives;
• the ability to quickly establish credibility with Managers across the business; working closely with them to review business plans and identify departmental learning needs;
• an excellent communicator; able to forge effective working relationships and with the ability to influence and persuade at all levels;
• the ability to design, implement and deliver effective learning and development activities and techniques, including the use of E-learning opportunities where appropriate, supported by the use of external and internal specialists and learning providers; and
• the ability to manage and co-ordinate the Learning and Development function, including related administration, record keeping and reporting; ensuring the delivery of the required service to the business and that the profile and reputation of the team is high.
