My client, an international trading company based in the City is currently recruiting for a Financial Controller to join their team

The role is to start ASAP and will be working alongside 4 Directors. Candidates must be Qualified ACCA/CIMA/ACA with previous experience working in a commodity trading company. The role has come about due to retirement

You will be managing a team of 6 within the accounts department who deal with the transactional side of the business. The role will be dealing more with the corporate side of the business including

Duties include:

• Analysing the accounts
• Supporting the directors and providing information
• Liaising with auditors
• Providing support on consultancy projects
• Budgets and business planning
• Providing commercial Preparation of annual financial statements in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS’s) and applicable UK accounting practice
• Assisting the production of mandatory FCA and other regulatory financial returns
• Preparing of board packs, including profit and loss, balance sheet and regulatory capital calculations
• Assisting with accounting policies and standards
• Ensuring an appropriate framework of balance sheet analysis and reconciliation is operating effectively each month
• Overseeing the maintenance of the general ledger
• Responding to both internal and external auditors queries
• Preparing of documents and reports for the Group information system
• Assisting tax advisor with information requirements for periodic tax filing
• Maintaining the accounting system and provide key input into finance systems development
• Assisting with accounting analysis in support of overseas tax, business development initiatives and major projects
• Preparing of ad hoc financial analysis for the business as and when required
• Supporting to the CEO/ board on company matters


Competitive salary dependent on experience £50 - £65k, plus statutory pension, private health cover and 28 days holiday plus statutory
