Purchasing Manager

Cameron James Professional Recruitment are currently recruiting for an experienced Purchasing Manager for an established manufacturing organisation in London

The role will include managing both the purchasing and the store functions as well ensuring all the materials are available for production and well within the agreed time scale, quality and cost constraint.

The successful candidate will have experience in a similar role in Purchasing metals ETC and have knowledge or worked previously within a project based business environment that is characterised by batch production and bespoke product design.

Some of the other responsibilities include;

• Maintaining tight stock control and lead year end stock take
• Managing the international supply chain
• Ensure cost competitiveness
• To source new parts and introduce new suppliers from across the globe.
• To play an active role in value engineering exercises and participate in new product development programmes
• To comply with company regulations including Health & Safety and Quality.
• To manage the preparation of site fixing kits
• Having interpreted technical drawings to manually compute the material requirements and raise purchase orders.
• To ensure purchasing and stores operating procedures are kept up to date.

Essentials Qualifications & Experience;

• Microsoft Office(EXCEL) competent (V look up, Pivot tables)
• Commercially astute (The ability to negotiate when placing orders)
• Engineering purchasing background preferable within metals
• Chartered Institute of Purchasing & Supply (CIPS)
• Understanding of foreign exchange transactions
• 6 Sigma Training (or equivalent) training
