Job Information

I am currently recruiting for an experienced HR Advisor who has extensive experience in Employee Relations. They will also have a generalist HR background with experience in Unionised environment to join a national organisation based in central London.

The role is to assist the Head of HR and Senior Managers within the division in implementing HR policies and programmes within the division. Ensure that people management strategies and practices are aligned with companies HR strategy and support the performance of the divisions.

The successful candidate will be an experienced HR Advisor who has previously provided operational support to senior managers in a challenging and commercial environment. Additionally they will have a good working knowledge of employee relations matters, including employee engagement, TUPE, unionised worksites and employment law application. A willingness to travel regularly to other UK offices is essential.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Support the Management Team in the day to day execution of all HR processes.
• Guide managers through employee relations cases in a timely manner, intervening and steering in the appropriate direction taking into consideration governing policies, employment law, best practice and precedent.
• Provide recommendations, expert advice and quality decision making to both the division on key HR programmes and processes.
• Provide key HR services to the division, ensuring all HR processes and practices are aligned to wider HR strategy, policies and programmes and support business strategy and drivers to meet current and future business needs.
• Assist with projects as requiring including TUPE transfers and reorganisations ensuring compliance with legislation
• Support the implementation of an employee engagement strategy in support of the broader employee relations strategy.
• Act as custodian of employee data for the division to ensure data is correct at all times for organisational purposes.
• Track and report on all employee issues e.g. disciplinary, sickness absence, grievance, performance etc.
• Act as a key member of the HR team in supporting the delivery of the company goals.
• Deliver ad hoc training and upskilling to Managers and employees as required
• Support in the annual salary review and bonus process ensuring accurate data and documentation is provided

KEY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

• CIPD qualified and up to date knowledge of UK employment law
• Demonstrated track record of successful delivery of generalist HR advice in a complex, customer focused environment
• Experience managing business change and complexity in a fast paced high volume environment
• Track record of building and managing relationships with a variety of stakeholders
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
• Team player with an ability to work on own initiative
• Highly proficient user of Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel
• Experience of operating in a unionised, multi-site environment
• Willing to travel
• Able to provide guidance to managers, supporting them with ER issues, performance management, ad hoc projects, reporting and policy development
• HR matters to be dealt with fairly and consistently in line with legislation and Company requirements. Best practice to be followed at all times.
• Previous experience of TUPE transfers and change management
• Ability to build key relationships and trust within the business
