Description

This is a varied and interesting role for an experienced individual who wishes to develop their knowledge in financial services.
our clients are a Chartered IFS firm in central Exeter with a respected reputation in the market. They are seeking an assistant paraplanner/senior financial services administrator to join the firm to assist and maintain a loyal client bank. You will work closely with the IFA and Compliance Manager assisting with the performance of that dual role to ensure a first class service is maintained.

You will be expected to handle client business from application to completion and assist with the ongoing review work associated with maintaining the long-standing and trusted relationships with clients. Clients are mostly private individuals with a wide range of investment, pensions, protection and Inheritance Tax needs etc.

In addition, you will also be required to assist with some compliance work such as the preparation and maintenance of Management Information (MI) data and some client file follow-up to help the firm meet the “Systems & Controls” and “T&C” requirements laid down by the FCA.

Responsibilities:

To work alongside the Financial Adviser and Compliance Manager to respond to clients’ enquiries and requests
Obtain valuations and policy information from the product providers, challenging any data as necessary
Preparing and processing review paperwork (including valuation schedules, fund switch forms and Bed & ISAs etc.)
Preparation of other documentation for client meetings and prospects (such as Letters of Engagement, Fee & Servicing Agreements, quotes from IRESS and other product research).
Online submission of new business to providers (a knowledge of the Fidelity FundsNetwork and Aviva platforms would be advantageous).
Maintaining client/policy records on back office system, updating client/policy action list and using diary function
Assisting with the preparation of client reports - these may be in relation to protection, pensions, investments and other associated financial planning requirements
Ensuring all paperwork is compliant with FCA requirements
Providing assistance with maintenance of records for the firmwide ‘Systems and Controls’ and T&C functions.
Assist with the preparation of MI.
Assist with compliance follow-up on client files where necessary.



Essential Skills:
You will have gained some relevant financial qualifications, ideally working towards Diploma status.
A minimum of 2 years’industry experience : ideally with a directly authorised financial adviser.
Accuracy and an eye for detail together with a high level of literacy and numerical skills are required
Have the ability to work under pressure and prioritise with good time management skills.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to deal with individuals at all levels
Must be IT literate.


Desirable Skills
Knowledge of Intelligent Office (IO) and the FundsNetwork and Aviva platforms is desirable.
