Cameron James are delighted to be working with a leading distribution business based in the Harrogate area in their search for an Assistant Finance Manager.
Our client, a true world leader in their sector are looking for an experienced finance professional to pro-actively take responsibility for the reporting and management accounts function for the UK arm of the business. Reporting to the Finance Manager (Group Reporting). You will be tasked to drive month end process improvements across the Department liaising with the other teams and ensure that "value adding" opportunities in the cost base are pro-actively communicated to Decision Support.

Responsibilities:



• Take responsibility for review and preparation of UK consolidated results and European results and disclosure to plc. Includes "actuals", "balance sheet budget/cash flow" and "balance sheet forecast/cash flow".
• Own the analytical review of UK numbers (balance sheet, cash flow and profit and loss account actuals).
• Take responsibility for the review Home Outlet and Green Deal results prior to completion of load file & statutory disclosures.
• Pro-actively liaise with Decision Support/US/ Other Group companies and teams on issues/decisions/results.
• Drive process improvements across Management Accounts and Group Reporting team and the Finance team as a whole
• Manage Management Accounts Team.
• Take ownership of the year end/half year planning and budget planning with Decision Support (with the support of the Finance Manager)
• Ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures and Wolseley UK management representation letter.
• Audit of completion accounts for disposals and acquisitions.
• High quality tour meeting preparation
• Pro-actively work with Decision Support on restatement of UK results of internal accounting policy changes in line with plc requirements.
• Review and preparation of balance sheet reconciliations.
• Take responsibility for UK impairment review process production/co ordination.
• Ad hoc technical projects.
