We are working with a large transport network provider and they are looking to recruit an experienced HR Advisor to join the team.

Reporting into the HR Manager the role will be working as part of a busy team of 3 people and will involve all aspects of HR. This is a real generalist HR position and will be extremely hands on and varied. Key duties and responsibilities will include;

•Dealing with all aspects of HR - supporting around 5000 employees across the business.
•Dealing with a high number of ER cases and giving advice to managers - grievances and disciplines, complex sickness/attendance cases, performance management, Tribunals, Claims.
•Assisting managers of all levels of experience with day to day HR matters and dealing with employee HR queries
•Dealing with all aspects of the employee life cycle - including starters / leavers, on-boarding and off boarding, advising on HR policies, procedures and HR Best practice.
•Assisting on projects such as updating the Employee handbook, develop and update Company policies and procedures, Debt recovery projects
•Take minutes at various management and Trade Union meetings. Act as an independent note taker in disciplinary or grievance meetings when required, e.g. when employee doesn’t have a rep or companion, or for particularly complex cases;
•Involved in the full recruitment process - Provide job descriptions, advertise for roles, manage CV’s, organise and attend interviews, send and update contracts, manage the inductions for new starters
•Provide support and coaching to all business unit management through the Performance Development Programme
•Provide support and assist management with TUPE transfers, both in and out, ensuring compliance with legislative requirements
•Working with the company lawyer on Employment Tribunal claims - supporting and preparing information from start to finish

For this role candidates must have worked at a similar level and have proven generalist HR experience. Ideally candidates will hold CIPD (or be studying towards), although this is not essential.

Candidates must have proven ER experience and have a good understanding of the disciplinary process. In addition you must be able to communicate effectively, be professional and have excellent attention to detail.
