An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Financial Services client at a time of high growth. They are looking for an ambitious Finance Controller to join the business working out their west Yorkshire office.

This essentially is a Finance Number One position, where you will be part of the Senior Management team and report directly into the Managing Director.

We are looking for someone who is BIG 4 Qualified, confident, very ambitious, looking to progress, hardworking, dedicated and who can manage a small accounts team.

A brief outline of the role and ideal experience;

• To support the Board/Senior Leadership Team by ensuring the accuracy of all financials, forecasting, financial modeling, analysis and budgeting.
• To provide accounting and reporting services, systems and outputs that are robust, timely, accurate, consistent, forward thinking and well informed.
• To support with FCA regulatory responsibility with their requirements and ensure detailed financial controls across all areas of the business conforming to FCA requirements. Implementation of new processes, new or enhanced systems.
• Timely and accurate financial reporting, forecasting, analysis and budgeting and to meet financial and operational targets.
• Preparation, planning and control of annual budgets and regular forecasts.
• Production of detailed monthly finance management information packs highlighting key variances.
• Financial performance of the business.
• Development and design of pricing models within the business.
• Attendance at operational executive meetings.
• Involvement in achieving the longer term strategic objectives for the business.
• Monitor and report trends in key areas of the business.
• Involvement in the production of the financial aspects of the business plan.
• To provide support and advice on ad-hoc commercial and financial projects.

Desirable Experience / Knowledge

• Previous experience required, ACA qualified
• Extensive accounting experience and accounting qualification (essential)
• Financial accounting technical skills
• Knowledge of the financial implications of FCA regulation
• Ability to see and understand the main commercial drivers of the business : commercial awareness
• Legal and regulatory knowledge including awareness of FCA rules
• Control mind set
