We are working with a large public sector organisation and they are recruiting for an experienced HR Manager to join the business.

Reporting into the Head of HR, the main focus of the role will be responsible for the day to day management of the team. Key duties and responsibilities will include;

• Managing 4 people within the HR department - all day to day management, support, guidance and on-going development
• Providing HR support to around 550 employees within the organisation
• Provide guidance and support within L&D and complex ER areas
• Lead the Supporting and contributing to the organisational culture change programme with effective L&OD strategies.
• Responsible for developing and implementing effective and efficient L&D strategies, policies and approaches.
• Support the head of HR with ensuring the department people strategy is effectively implemented and in-bedded into the business
• Provide expert advice and guidance with ER areas including disciplinary, tribunals, appeals, grievances, absence management, and harassment and bullying. Chair and lead meetings, involved with outcome decisions and managing the process.
• Working with the organisations solicitors and legal advisors to prepare responses for Employment Tribunal cases.
• Provide support and guidance to the senior management team with all areas of HR
• Deal with trade unions, involved within organisation change - TUPE, Redundancies and managing change within the business
• Lead and develop the HR team, responsible for all operation areas

For this role it is essential that candidates have worked at a similar level and are ideally fully qualified CIPD or the equivalent experience.

Experience within the public sector is required and candidates must have strong ER and L&D experience. In addition to strong staff management and team development experience.
