My client, an award winning MM

My client, an award winning public sector organisation, is looking for an experienced and versatile HR Manager.

This role is a permanent role, however my client is looking for an initial 3 month contractor with the potential to go permanent.

This role reports to the Head of HR and you will provide an effective operational support to the HR function.

Responsibilities:

a) Contract Management

• Keep under review all standard form employment contracts to maintain clear communication of employee terms and legal compliance, recommending changes as appropriate.
• Liaise with the MIS team to ensure the intranet reflects up to date information of all terms and conditions of employment.
• Secure efficient systems and procedures to ensure accurate and timely contractual documentation is issued.
• Review and recommend changes to core terms of employment in response to changes in legislation, case law and good practice guidelines.
• Review initial requests for evaluation, operate matching and panel evaluation referrals as appropriate.
• Provide advice to management on the process of job evaluation.
• Review generic job descriptions and amend within grade boundaries as required.
• Provide advice on grading to managers on the development of new roles.
• Review grade progression/starting salary assessments to ensure compliance with equal pay and job evaluation.
• Review policies and procedures and update / amend where appropriate.
• Assist the Director of HR in the review of the annual equal pay audit.


b) HR Advice

• Provide key stakeholders and department managers with professional advice to support best management practice.
• Manage complex cases at hearing, appeal hearing and tribunal.
• Provide support for restructures and reorganisations in the business, including drafting documentation and managing union and staff consultation.
• Act as key Professional HR contact to named departments and ensure professional standards are maintained.


c) Operational Management

• Assist the Head of Human Resources in reviewing service delivery to maintain statutory compliance and best HR practice.
• Ensure changes in the HR information management system are implemented, assisting the Head of Human Resources in reviewing and improving the systems.
• Contribute to the HR training programme.
• Ensure professional skills are regularly updated through participation in training and development.
• Ensure good practice in equality and health and safety management is maintained in the areas of direct control.
• Undertake project leads at the direction of the Head of Human Resources.
• Provide cover for Human Resources Managers and team members.
• Undertake any other duties within the general remit of the role and commensurate with the grade, as required.
