Our Clients have been an established form of Chartered FInancial plannersOur Clients have beenooooOur Clients have been a leading firm of Chartered Financial Planners in Wimbledon for 20 years. We are recruiting for a Technical Manager to oversee the function of Paraplanning and Compliance.
JOB TITLE: Technical Manager
PURPOSE OF JOB: To support Financial Planners in provision of high quality technical advice and financial strategy to clients and to ensure smooth delivery of excellent client services as per the business process. To efficiently manage and organise technical tasks and workflows.
RESPONSIBLE TO: Practice Manager
MAIN AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:
Preparation of draft financial plans for prospective and existing clients, and draft recommendations to meet client needs
Preparation of documentation needed pre and post on-going client review meetings as per the business process
Servicing of existing clients as per the business process
Continuous development of financial and technical expertise
Supporting other team members in specialist knowledge areas
Ensuring business and compliance processes are followed to required timescales
Keeping up-to-date with current developments in financial services, financial markets and economic trends
Drafting of advice within a strict ethical and compliance framework, ensuring that all operations are carried out in accordance with the regulator
New business processing oversight
Organisation of the Investment Committee meetings and preparation and collation of relevant documentation and research

SPECIFIC DUTIES:
Preparation and maintenance of client files:
Check all compliance paperwork is present
Confirm risk profile is determined and up-to-dated
Discuss client objectives with Financial Planners
Identify and obtain information necessary to compile clients recommendation / financial cashflow forecast
Compile draft net worth statements; income and expenditure statements and financial cashflow forecast and discuss with planner
Preparation of recommendations:
Identify areas for planning
Undertake research both independent and with the Financial Planner to identify suitable solutions to meet the clients needs
Prepare information / comparisons for analysis
Liaise with clients legal & tax advisers (where applicable)
Consider current & future allocation of assets for investment strategy with regard to client risk profile
Prepare cashflow forecasts as per clients goals & objectives
Prepare draft recommendations to be discussed / signed off by Financial Planner
Prepare carry forward, lifetime allowance, and other technical calculations
Liaising with product providers and other relevant third parties
Assist with client implementation meetings if required
Oversight of new business processing (with help of a Technical Assistant)
Review
Act as main point of contact and deal effectively with queries from clients and other parties through effective communication
Establish and build strong relationships with clients and attend client meetings with Financial Planner if required; be prepared to provide clients with live financial modelling during the meeting
Organise future planning meetings with client if required
Assist with preparation of Annual Review Reports and other pre and post annual review meeting documentation
Other
Oversee the provision of administration functions to meet regulatory requirements
Assist with technical development of junior team members
Provide specialist technical support
Ensuring business and compliance processes are followed to required timescales
Undertake ongoing research to keeping up-to-date with current developments in financial services, financial markets and economic trends
Help with the development and improvement of internal procedures
Liaise with the Investment Committee if required
Organise Investment Committee meetings and prepare & collate relevant documentation and research
Preform fund filtering process annually
Perform annual due diligence on best-in-class funds
Perform other functions related to the Investment Process upon request

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Certified or Chartered Financial Planning qualification (or near to)
Level 4 Qualifications
Level 6 Qualifications (desirable)
Pension transfer specialist
BSc in Economics, Mathematics, Physics, Business or a related discipline
High level of technical knowledge
Excellent understanding of the Financial Planning process
Excellent cashflow planning/modelling abilities
Excellent numeracy skills
Excellent ability to multi-task and prioritise effectively
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
Excellent communication skills (both written & verbal)
Excellent report writing skills
Ability to assimilate technical information into an understandable format for clients
Good IT skills/ proficient with Microsoft
Knowledge of Voyant (desirable)
Proven broad knowledge of financial services industry
Proven ability to work within a defined business process
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
