Cameron James is currently working with an extremely ambitious and forward thinking company in their search for a Head of Events to head up their team on a permanent basis. This is a truly exciting time to join the company, as they have plans to grow rapidly and move in to new state of the art offices in the near future. My client is a two-time Guinness World Record Holder and has established relationships with some extremely influential and well respected celebrities in addition to globally renowned institutions.

My client is looking for a Head of Events who will strategically and operationally prepare, manage and deliver the organisations events and tours programme within the UK, ensuring they are well-managed, effective, and efficient events serving the primary purpose of the company’s core aims. Other responsibilities include;

• Line managing a team of Events Managers and Support Officers.
• Leading the events department and its relative work streams.
• Project managing and executing high profile tours and campaigns.
• Setting and understanding the objectives of events and ensuring those are maximised through events planning.
• Overseeing the management and delivery of events, exhibitions and conferences, including full end-to-end planning, delegating logistics and communications.
• Producing and managing standard procedures and checklists for the management and delivery of events as required.
• Working alongside the Marketing department to ensure that all events and tours are supported with a comprehensive marketing strategy to reach maximum participation.
• Ensuring best value for money on all events expenditure through market analysis and procurement.
• Carrying out market research to identify demand for new and existing event or partnership opportunities.
• Understanding and manage risk assessments and mitigate risks across all events.
• Preparing and presenting evaluation reports of events for Senior Leadership Team.

Due to the nature of the role, the chosen candidate will have a minimum of 4 years’ experience within an Events role. The candidate must also have a degree with a desirable focus on Events Management. Other key competencies include;

• Demonstrable experience of running events from conception to completion.
• Practical knowledge of how to plan, execute, manage and troubleshoot the organisation of events.
• Experience of working in a senior management position.
• Strong project management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise a complicated workload.
• Experience of managing events and tours within the Charity sector is highly desirable.
• Experience of managing and supervising the work of others.
• Highly developed time management and organisational skills.
• Ability to organise and follow through a task with attention to detail and to work under pressure to a deadline.
