Present Position: Compliance Specialist Policy

Department: Compliance Initial 6 month contract (possible permanent) up to £350 per day

Responsibilities:

Within the Compliance team the reviewing and refreshing of the Policies and procedures along with the forms and documents related to them is a critical component of the firm compliance with the Compliance commitment of our entity.

Responsible for ensuring the Company is fully compliant with FCA and Spanish regulations as regards all the Wholesale activity regulation. Likewise, the candidate will be in charge of giving advice and guidance to the Director of Compliance, Senior Management as well as providing training to the staff on local financial crime legislation, rules, regulations and sanction issues.

The main Responsibilities:

• to develop, review, update and implement appropriate Compliance related policies and procedures. Keeping up to date with all legislation, regulation and best practice to ensure the Compliance team within the branch is operating with maximum knowledge and efficiency. Providing on-going support to the Director of Compliance in the interpretation of laws and regulations and provide advice and guidance to a variety of departments within the business.
• Analysing criteria and regulation from the FCA and other regulators

Competencies:

• An understanding of investment banking business is a must and an understanding of the wholesale and corporate banking products, such as, derivatives, fixed income, equity, structured products, etc
• Candidate must be able to communicate confidently and effectively with Front Offices and other senior persons, in clear written and spoken English. Being able to speak Spanish will be advantageous, but is not a requirement.
• Candidate must have an understanding of MiFID, Dodd Frank, Volcker, EMIR,
• Candidate must be willing and able to go on training courses that have been determined by senior management as being crucial for the role.

Profile:

Formal / Academic Education:

• University degree. A degree in business or law will be advantageous

Experience:

• Experience in a position related to Compliance or internal audit departments
• Minimum 3 years of experience in Banking sector within Compliance
• Strong understanding of the risk culture and how to grasp this changing regulatory environment.
