Job Information

We are working with a growing construction / property business and they are recruiting for an experienced HR Manager to join the business and head up the group HR function.

Reporting into a Senior Director, the role will have full responsibility for the HR function across the group and will involve managing the operational and strategic focus of HR within the business. In addition to overseeing and hands on involvement with all day to day HR activities, the role will also be involved with various projects across the business. Key duties and responsibilities will include;

• Managing the HR function for the business, providing HR services to around 200 employees and overseeing 1 HR Assistant.
• Providing support and guidance to the senior management team, advising on all matters of UK Employment matters
• Offer advice and support to staff and managers on disciplinary, grievance and other human resources related issues
• Working with the business and as part of the senior team, on the selection, review and implementation of a new HR system
• Updating the Staff Handbook and other standard HR documents, policies & procedures, in addition to advising on matters of HR best practice
• Managing small scale staff transfers as and when group companies merge or new companies are acquired, in accordance with TUPE
• Overseeing and managing recruitment, whilst supporting the business with growth plans for the group
• Producing HR related articles for the internal newsletter and business briefings
• Liaising with the Managing Partner to review staff benefits and rewards
• Oversee payroll reporting, benefits administration and providing the management team with MI and staff reports
• Produce training plans for all levels of staff including Director level, to reflect the requirements of the individual and the business and set annual budget accordingly
• Overseeing the Investors in People process i.e. helping Directors and staff prepare for assessments, liaise with IIP Assessors, arrange review meetings etc.

For this role candidates will be CIPD Qualified and have proven experience working as a HR Manager. Ideally candidates will have similar industry experience - property, construction, consultancy etc. - although this is not essential. TUPE experience would be advantageous.

Candidates must have hands on HR experience and be happy to be involved with all aspects of day to day HR. This is a really good role, with involvement on a number of key HR projects in the business.

Ideally candidates will be immediately available or on a short notice period - although candidates on longer notice should still apply - this is about getting the righty candidate.

Fantastic opportunity to join a growing and well established business - that recognises and rewards hard work. Excellent benefits package offered including pension, 25 days holiday, life insurance and many other things!
