Commercial Motor Underwriter/ Fleet Underwriter / Motor Trade Underwriter

Location : South Manchester : Salary up to 50k + Bonus and Benefits

Our client is a Leading Independent Broker who has been trading for over 40 years who due to the continued growth of the business now requires a development and trading underwriter to assist with the Product Pricing in the Motor side of the business

Objectives of the Position

To assist the Product and Pricing Director by managing the product development and insurer panel for Commercial Vehicle, Private Car, Motor trade Road Risk and Taxi product lines

Responsibilities of the position

• Monitor competitor activity regularly and use information to
• Lead insurer relations at class underwriting level for product lines outlined above
• Provide regular, detailed analysis of product trading performance to internal recipients and insurers
• Identify, research and implement product improvements to drive income
• Hold regular insurer meetings to drive trading relationships forward
• Collate, interpret and annotate regular insurer underwriting performance MI
• Identify and implement future trends in enrichment to support trading position
• Liaise with New Business, Renewals and Customer Services departments and implement changes to support these key functions
• Work with Pricing team to identify areas of mutual opportunity

Knowledge and Experience Required

• Expert knowledge of the insurer / broker distribution market for some (preferably all) of the product lines for which you are responsible
• Expert knowledge and experience of trading on Price Comparison Websites (PCW)
• Expert knowledge of enrichment, fraud prevention and other protection measures within motor insurance
• Good knowledge of the Regulatory environment and emerging trends
• Good knowledge of MS Word, PowerPoint and expert knowledge of Excel
• CII qualified (preferred)

• Experienced as a Motor broker or Motor insurer
