REGIONAL SITE MANAGER

I have a rare opportunity for an experienced Regional Manager to join a leading safety and workplace supplier, to manage a very successful and established team based within the Crawley region. Here your time will be split between being on site and on the road, generating and growing sales across your region, whilst ensuring that the site continues to provide the high level of service.

 

This is an excellent opportunity where you will manage all branch functions, in order to achieve budgeted contribution by meeting and exceeding the requirements of your customers and through cost effective and innovative operational management. This is a key role influencing, not only the sales performance of the site but leading and developing the teams and individuals within, along with providing Service Excellence throughout.

 

Your key areas of responsibility will be to:

Customer service

  • Lead all staff focus on the customer and meet customer needs
  • Instil a customer service ethic throughout, ensuring that all queries are dealt with efficiently
  • Ensure customer service level meets company objectives, through measuring and taking corrective action where necessary.
  • Encourage an active interface between telesales, sales and operations

Sales

  • Develop and implement sales plan that is focussed upon gaining new customers and expanding business levels with existing customers
  • Organise branch sales resources to generate sufficient sales and margin to achieve budgeted contribution
  • Project manage tender process involving all relevant areas of the business to ensure tender is financially viable and commercial risk is minimised
  • Manage, support and coach sales staff
  • Ensure that all staff are kept informed of relevant information on sales, promotional and distribution initiatives to ensure market maximisation
  • Support all areas of sales by provision of specific area sales reports on branch activities and performance.

Leadership

  • Recruit, induct, train, and retain staff of the required number and calibre
  • Ensure all training requirements are met and regularly
  • Continuously assess branch and sales staff against identified performance criteria
  • Maintain a high level of performance and conduct in branch in line with HR policies

Operational efficiency

  • Maintain inventory in line with budget
  • Maintain fleet operations in line with legal requirements and company EHS & transport policy
  • Manage EHS performance to minimise the company KPI’s and in line with business EHS performance targets
  • Manage workplace and equipment to comply with legal requirements & company EHS policy
  • Manage, support and coach key operational staff

Finance

  • Develop annual branch budget for discussion with senior management
  • Develop sales and distribution plans to achieve budget
  • Ensure that branch operational costs are maintained within budget
  • Provide regular and ad hoc sales and operation reports as requested

  • Computer Literate
  • Business and Financial Understanding - ability to analyse business proposals for customer to ensure profitability and able to implement budgets

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Aptitude to develop/apply KPI’s to measure and improve operational and sales performance
  • Demonstrates effective team management
  • Demonstrates successful sales experience
  • Demonstrates successful operational management experience
  • Experience of high volume, low margin distribution industry
