Working in partnership with an established third sector organisation we are currently recruiting for an experienced Contracts Advisor to join their very successful and evolving team in Wetherby, this will initially be on a 2year fixed term contract but with a view to going permanent.  This role is working as part of the Legal and Contracts Services team performing a wide range of contract support activities.
 
As the Contracts Advisor you will be required to:
 
·        Be the first point of contact for advice on legal and contractual matters
·        Perform a wide range of legal and contract support activities.
·        Deliver a robust legal advisory and contract- drafting service to the Company which crosses the range of the company’s commercial and non-commercial activity with other bodies such as: publishers, PLC’s, rights holders, libraries, universities, funding bodies and scientific/research bodies throughout the world
·        Provide specialist advice and consultancy on contract management issues, supporting a number of complex change programmes and advising upon the efficacy and robustness of legal frameworks
·        Prioritise a large workload, whilst managing customer expectations
·        Support colleagues as well as work on your own initiative
 
The successful candidate should:
 
·        Ideally be LPC accredited with 3 years PQE or equivalent comparable qualifications
·        Have extensive experience of negotiating contracts with significant financial and strategic implications; determining the Company’s rights and obligations on specific issues such as: regulatory prerequisites, legal compliance, license construction, changes in legislation etc
·        Advise on the acceptability or otherwise of contractual arrangements proposed to the Company by external bodies
·        Report in depth on the implications and negotiating alternatives where necessary to safeguard company interests.
·        Have in-depth knowledge of Contract Law and Company related Law and the ability to assimilate information quickly and concisely
·        Experience working in a similar role in a public sector environment, would also be an advantage
 
In return you will receive a salary of £35,750 per annum for working 36 hours per week, 25days annual leave plus bank holidays, contributory pension scheme of 20.6%, flexible working hours scheme and the option to take up to 5days flexi leave every quarter which is additional to the standard holidays, free car parking, subsidised canteen, and cycle to work scheme.
The role is completely home based at the moment but will still be partly home based when restrictions are lifted.
