Working in partnership with one of the UK’s top manufacturing companies based in Yorkshire we are currently recruiting for an experienced Senior HR Business Partner to join their very successful team on a full-time permanent basis.
There will be some occasional travel required across different sites in the UK so you can be based in either the Bradford or South Yorkshire offices.
 
You will be a key member of the HR team, reporting into the HR Director, taking responsibility for the Operational business units across the UK and for 2 HRBP’s. You will be supporting c650 direct employees and c1500 self-employed contractors with your team.
 
As the Senior HR Business Partner your key duties and responsibilities will include:
 
·        To advise managers and staff on matters across the whole spectrum of human resources.
·        To assist and advise in the investigation of disciplinary and grievance cases, maintaining an awareness of current legislation and its application ensuring that policies and procedures are amended accordingly.
·        Work closely with Trade Union representatives as required and provide quality advice to managers in respect of employee relations’ issues to support the delivery of an effective service.
·        Responsibility for pay negotiations within the factory and other operational channels.
·        Line management responsibility for 2 HRBP’s, ensuring their own performance, training and coaching requirements are met whilst supporting them daily.
·        To assist and advise in the implementation of staff appraisals and performance monitoring to ensure training and coaching requirements are met.
·        Ensure positive employee engagement by driving improved communications.
·        Provide advice and support line managers and the business with employment law queries.
·        Liaise directly with the functional managers and directors, so an ability to build and maintain strong relationships with senior level employees is required.
·        Some travel to different sites when required across England and Wales.
 
The successful candidate should:
 
·        Be CIPD qualified with very strong HR experience.
·        Previous experience of working with unions in the manufacturing industry is essential for this role.
·        Be confident and experienced in dealing with pay negotiations.
·        Have previous line management experience within HR.
·        The ability to perform under pressure and be able to prioritise your own workload whilst supporting your team.
·        Have engaging communication skills, both over the telephone and face to face.
·        Be a team player with a flexible ‘can do’ attitude.
·        Be proficient with MS packages.
 
In return you will receive a salary of circa £50,000 depending on experience plus car allowance, 25 days annual leave - plus bank holidays, free parking at most of the sites, flexibility with some home working, 4% pension contribution.  Working hours are Monday to Friday between 8am – 6pm.
