We are working on an exclusive basis with a well-established and market leading transport company, and they are looking for an experienced HR Advisor to join the business ASAP.
 
This role is a busy position and responsible for providing HR support on a range of generalist areas and they need candidates who are confident, can hit the ground running and can build relationships and take control of this client group. It is a heavily unionised environment, so union experience is essential for this role.
 
Working as part of a regional team and supporting a multi-site client group of c400 employees, the focus of the role is to ensure the smooth running of the HR function and the development, implementation and monitoring of HR processes across the whole of the employment life cycle i.e., from recruitment, end to end ER case management, attendance/ case management and performance matters, through to employee exit. Key duties will include;
 
-Working as part of a busy regional HR team reporting into the senior HR Business Partner
-Generalist HR role, responsible for a client group of c400 employees across 10 sites (South-east, London, and South-west)
-Provide in-house HR advice and support, ensuring that all company policies and processes are consistently applied and that all HR queries are dealt with promptly and reliably.
-Support union engagement activities, including preparation for annual union pay negotiations, liaison and building relationships with union reps
-Managing an ER caseload and supporting managers with ER matters, including investigations, capability, grievance, and disciplinary matters
-Provide support and training to managers on all employee matters, including up-skilling and development
-Provide comprehensive support to restructures, redundancy, TUPE activities
-Support on recruitment activities, including preparing job descriptions, job advertisements (internal and external), interviewing, offer letters, contracts of employment, contract amendments etc
-Assisting with and developing responses to manpower planning and staffing needs and associated activities, e.g., targeted recruitment campaigns for the region
-Overseeing and monitoring staff performance, career development and appraisal processes
-Review the application and implementation of HR policies to help ensure that these are in line with best practice and current legislation, and reviewed as part of wider HR strategy
-Resource planning, reviewing staffing needs and managing recruitment campaigns
-Take an active involvement in payroll processing
 
For this role candidates will need to have proven HR experience at this level and hold experience within a similar sector i.e., Logistics, Transport, Rail, FMCG, Freight, Manufacturing, Engineering etc,
 
Supporting a regional client group, it involves being office based for c2 days and then working from the different sites as and when required, and dependent on business needs. This role would be responsible for fully managing their own diary and supporting the business as required - whether that be face to face or video conferencing (so shouldn’t be excessive travelling across sites).
