We are assisting an established Law firm and they are recruiting for a Part-Time HR Officer, to start ASAP. The role is for 22.5 hours and ideally over 3 days, although this can be flexible to suit the candidate.
 
This role would be ideal for an experienced HR Professional looking to go back into work or wanting flexible working hours to suit family commitments. The firm offers hybrid working, so can be a mix of home and office working.
 
Working as part of a team of 3 in HR, the role support c120 employees and is responsible for providing key HR initiatives across the employee cycle. Key duties and responsibilities will include;
 
-Managing recruitment for the firm, including work experience programmes, training contracts and new hires of solicitors and paralegals.
-Reviewing CV’s, screening and interviewing, writing and updating job descriptions, organising assessment centres and managing all paperwork through to on-boarding.
-Organising annual Law In-sight day for young students with trainees and solicitors and highlighting future paralegals/trainees and keep in contact
-Organising induction programmes for new starters, completing SRA checks for lawyers and supporting the HR Manager with delivering HR induction for new starters
-Attending career fairs to promote the firm, updating career fair marketing material and building relationships with potential paralegal candidates
-Managing employee benefits - maintaining and updating the medical insurance scheme, liaising with brokers, reviewing costings for benefits and answering employee queries
-Compliance Training - ensure all new starters are enrolled on to compliance training and completed within 4 weeks of joining, enrolling new staff onto training
-Generalist HR duties, including supporting the HR team with a range of activities to ensure they are providing an efficient service
-Providing staff welfare support in complete confidence
-Employee on boarding
-Supporting the team with general HR tasks / projects
-Maintaining HR staff files
 
For this role candidates will need to have proven HR experience at this level and ideally be studying towards CIPD qualification. Experience within a legal or professional services firm would be advantageous, although not essential.
 
Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as you will be supporting the business with HR initiatives and will be the first point of contact for new recruits, educational / professional body institutes and employees.
