Exciting opportunity for a Senior HR/L&D Executive to join our busy HR team with a corporate and commercial law firm.  The role will involve providing professional and operational HR support for allocated divisions within the Firm, leading the Firm's learning and development activities and leading the Firm's graduate recruitment processes.

MAIN DUTIES

- To manage work experience programmes including the SRA/LSS traineeships, Summer Placement Programmes, work shadows, Prime initiative - activities include recruitment, selection, and induction processes.
- To review the firm’s early talent attraction and recruitment strategies.
- To manage the legal summer placement programme
- To manage the PEAT 2 and PSC training programmes
- To work with the Training Manager and Training Principal to ensure legal traineeship processes are fulfilled in line with relevant training regulations
- To attend external networking meetings with external Early Talent Teams including Institute of Student Employers.
- To be the HR representative for all trainees (payroll + employee relations responsibility)
- To work with Senior D+I Executive to ensure attraction and recruitment processes are in line with firm D+I strategy
- To establish and maintain key relationships with suppliers, clients, and other industry contacts to ensure up to date with key challenges and trends in the early talent and L&D sectors within in the legal industry
- To manage on the trainee seat rotation exercise and PQPR/SRA review exercises.
- To conduct an annual review of training providers – seeking new training providers and courses based on requirements of colleagues/teams.
- To lead on the annual appraisal process, ensuring all training requirements are identified and training plans are put in place.
- To develop and deliver training in-house as and when required.
- To manage Management Services and Central Training budgets.
- To ensure all Learning and Development policies are up to date.
- To become expert on external courses and qualification processes (dual-qualification, STEP, ACCA)
- To ensure necessary clawback arrangements are processed for external courses/qualifications.
- To manage the firm’s IIP status and accreditation and any other learning and development accreditations
- To lead on key training events – Core Skills Training, Senior Legal Staff Development Day, IIYP Training Day.
- To chair the fortnightly L+D meeting and contribute to the quarterly KLC meeting.
- To lead on the firm-wide mentoring initiative
- To manage the firm’s Emerging Leaders Programme.
- To manage the firm’s onboarding processes (including trainee and summer placement inductions) – ensuring any feedback is actioned.
- To manage and oversee duties of Early Talent + Learning Executive and Early Talent + Learning Assistant.
- To undertake any other reasonable duties as requested by the appropriate manager.

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

Essential

- A minimum of three years’ experience in a similar role, preferably in the professional services sector.
- Degree educated in a relevant discipline and/or CIPD qualified at level 5 or above.
- At least 1 years’ experience in a line management capacity.
- Exposure to working with a busy team and dealing with conflicting priorities.
- Ability to use your own initiative to resolve problems.
- Strong written and verbal communication.

Desirable

- Experience in working in an early talent capacity within the legal sector.
- Experience developing and delivering training
