Our Client is an independent multi-national company who are now looking for an Indirect BuyerRole Purpose
The Indirect Buyer will join a dynamic and forward-thinking procurement team. Reporting to the Procurement Supervisor, they will lead operational procurement activity in relation to business support and indirect spend. As this is a new role, the Indirect Buyer will help drive cultural change to develop procurement processes specific to Indirect spend, ensure corporate governance, and manage supplier performance.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead operational procurement for business support - Facilities Management, Production Engineering needs (equipment and maintenance), PPE, hire plant, stationary, IT etc
• Develop partnership relationships with suppliers - meet, negotiate and review performance
• Liaise with stakeholder community - understand what they need from the supply chain
• Monitor, record and drive improved performance from suppliers
• Investigate and suggest new supply partners
• Suggest rationalisation of supplier base where appropriate
• Improve procurement processes and ensure adherence to procurement policies/governance
• Support other Team members as necessary
• Any other duties as directed by the Procurement Supervisor or Procurement Manager
Person Specification
We are looking for individuals who are highly motivated and have a passion to contribute to the success of Hochiki. In addition to this, you will possess the following:
Qualifications
• Essential: Strong education background, holding A-level qualifications (or equivalent)
• Desirable: Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS), or studying towards CIPS qualification would be beneficial
Experience
• Essential: Purchasing and Supplier Management experience
• Desirable: Previous experience of working in a Procurement team in an Indirect role, within a manufacturing environment.
Technical Skills
• Essential: Computer literate, with MS Office skills/abilities
• Desirable: Experience of using an MRP system and/or SAP
Personal Qualities
• Excellent communication skills
• Strong organisational skills
• Self-motivated with the ability to perform well under pressure, achieve goals and meet deadlines
• A good team player who welcomes change
