Purpose of the roleReporting to the Head of Procurement and Planning, you will be pivotal in identifying a suitable MRP/ERP system, supporting the collation of requirements across the business and part of the project management team to implement a suitable system.
As the Business Systems Analyst/ Planning Manager you will be responsible for the Senior Planner, covering the scheduling and coordinating of products from sales through manufacturing to completion, ensuring maximum performance and minimum delay.
Key Areas of Responsibility
Work alongside the Head of Procurement & Planning to review existing processes in relation to the MRP/ERP system and prepare a business case for a suitable alternative
Manage the interpretation of the Sales order forecast to provide procurement with a supplier forecast and review agreed product lead times periodically
Engage in improving processes, working closely with key stakeholders to ensure a streamlined approach is adapted
Manage and lead the Planning Department, take responsibility for the accurate planning of requirements of the business to complete sales orders on time and in full, ensuring your team maintain close relationships with relevant departments, meeting business KPI’s
Continuously improve the efficiency of planning operations, working closely with the Procurement team to strive for best practice
Own the PI (Perpetual Inventory) process and the reporting associated with this at year end, maintaining stock classifications.
Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications and Experience:
Ideally having been involved in implementing an MRP/ERP system
A team player with the ability to work effectively across departments engaging key stakeholders.
Good understanding of operational processes and the ability to translate department requirements into a suitable ERP system
Strong knowledge of production scheduling and planning systems using ERP/MRP processes
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent Excel skills, expert in collating data and ability to present data
Have a high level of initiative and ability to work independently.
Excellent organisational and time management skills
Excellent attention to detail.
Ability to work well under pressure with a ‘can do’ attitude
